![]() Legendary dragons DG have the highest chance of dropping flawless diamonds. ![]() Giants will always carry gems, mostly sapphires and emeralds it seems. The Prowler's Profit ability spawns gems of varying qualities in any container permanently, from only one gem to rarely up to 10 gems in boss chests and dragons. With the acquisition of the Prowler's Profit ability, precious gems of all sorts and all qualities will appear in a large number of places, 100% of the time. There is roughly a 10% chance of receiving a gemstone per piece of extracted ore. The only thing left for you to do is roleplay that this event is the downfall of your character and that soon he will be assasinating innocent people in their beds for their souls, unable to resist the power that those souls represent, pretty soon he will turn to vampirism, and will do dark quests for daedric lords, ever hungry for the power that in turn will further corrupt him. Its not ok to use a black soul gem and all the hard work you put into role playing a moral character has been wasted because deep down you know in truth that you will never be anything more than a soulless husk that can't even roleplay a good and moral person, you'll never be able to fight the desire to use that gem because you don't have the willpower to fight temptation. You think this is the best choice because you are role playing a good guy but you really really want to use the black soul gem, truth is you dont need the approval of strangers on the internet to tell you its ok to use the gem, because at the end of the day. The soul is already being tormented, at least that way you can have it do good in the world. But, beyond that, I'd almost wonder if enchanting a weapon and doing good deeds with it would be the best thing to do. Even if it is just the soul of an animal, you are still putting it through terrible pain.Īs for what to do with a found gem that may contain an innocent, I'd still say lore wise that smashing it is the best action to take. ![]() It would seem that the whole praxis is tormenting, and in that case I would think that ANY kind of enchanting is a terrible thing to do. Is it the process of becoming a soul gem? The process of enchanting a weapon? Or is it just the process of converting a wraith into a soul gem? Just what part of the "praxis", as the wraith calls it, is tormenting is unclear, though. I didn't see anything specifically about the "feels like flesh wrapped around the item" thing, but certainly the whole suffering idea is clear. I haven't gotten around to playing all the other Elder Scrolls games yet, so I don't know all of the lore, but I definitely intend to eventually. It's immoral to capture and use humanoid souls, but this one is already trapped.ĭo I lock it away somewhere and force it to endure an eternity trapped inside a gem so that nobody can harm it? Do I carry it around with me so it can participate in my adventure and not get bored? Do I use it for an enchantment and obliterate the soul so it doesn't have to suffer anymore? What happens to souls when they're used in enchantments? Do they move on to the afterlife as if they had died normally? Or are they obliterated completely? Do I take it to a temple and one of the priests could (theoretically, this wouldn't be in the game mechanics) liberate the soul without harming it. I found a black soul gem already filled with a grand soul, presumably a humanoid one since that's what black soul gems are for. So, I'm roleplaying as a lawful good wizard, running around helping people out and refusing to do evil tasks like helping the thieves guild or cannibals.
